A l'ombre des canopées

In the shadow of the canopy

Above our heads, there is a world that we can barely see: that of the canopy. The top of the forest, a suspended threshold between heaven and earth, it filters light, shelters living things and muffles sound. Everywhere, the canopy is living architecture, dense and fragile, regulating the rhythm of the world below. Mégane takes up residence in this in-between world, in the shadow cast by these plant heights. Through her work, she explores what lies hidden beneath, what sprouts from within, what watches over the world above.

On this journey, a doubt persists: what are we really looking at? The distant sky, or the thick foliage that masks it? The light that descends, or the shadow that rises? This ambiguity runs through the exhibition like a tenuous thread: is the subject

what is hidden, or what hides it?

Here, the canopy goes beyond its natural reality to become a mental and emotional place, a space of protection, retreat and mystery. A threshold of perception that we cross without ever really grasping. With almost silent attention, Mégane invites us to slow down, to listen to the interstices, to get in touch with what grows silently. Her works are inner forests, where every detail discreetly sings of life.
