Mégane Likin (b. 1994, Huy, Belgium) lives and works in Brussels. Trained in visual arts at the Fine Arts School of Liège, she first developed her practice in London before continuing her artistic path in Belgium. Her work explores memory, the past, and the ways in which these temporal layers shape our perception of the present and the future.

Through her landscapes, she examines the transformation of events and the gradual reinvention of memory. Erasure and absence occupy a central place in her work: rather than concealing, these gestures reveal what has disappeared, making the invisible perceptible. A quiet stillness inhabits her paintings, inviting the viewer into an intimate and introspective experience, where one is confronted with one’s own memory and the subjectivity of perception.

Her small-scale paintings function as windows onto time: they suspend the image, hold a moment in place, and allow traces of passing time to emerge, often lingering at the edge of the horizon. Between appearance and disappearance, visibility and invisibility, a tension unfolds in which the ephemeral takes on its full meaning. Likin’s work ultimately reminds us that each moment is singular and irreversible, and that no memory can ever be relived in exactly the same way.

Her work has been exhibited widely in Belgium and has received several awards. Today, her paintings are included in important private collections.
